Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do I know that you will be able to help me?

Anyone considering my support is welcome to contact me to arrange a free 15-minute consultation. During this conversation, we can briefly discuss your needs, how I might be able to provide the support you are looking for,  and really to give us an opportunity to determine whether we will be a good fit in working together. I will also be honest with you, if I feel that another health care professional or service will better meet your needs, I will inform you of them and direct you to the support I feel is most appropriate.  I do not want you wasting your time or resources if I feel that your needs will better be met with someone other than myself. That’s ok.

  • What do I need to know to make a decision about seeking our counselling?

At the onset of counselling, I will review confidentiality and my services as well as the limits of confidentiality, which all revolve around safety. There will be an opportunity to discuss how I can support you, as well as the expectations that we are bound to in our work together, as I am a registered Social Worker in Ontario with the College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers as well as the Ontario Association of Social Workers. We will also revisit consent and the limits of confidentiality regularly as part of our work together.

  • What areas do you provide service to?

I provide services virtually to residents across Ontario. All virtual sessions are provided over a secure video-chat platform designed for healthcare workers to protect your privacy.

  • Do you provide direct billing, and what programs/providers are you registered with?
