Rates

My rate is set at $160 per 1-hour session for individual support and $180 per hour for couples support to give consideration to the knowledge, training and expertise I have to take up this work and also to try and ensure my services are accessible. I am transparent about my rate on my website as part of my belief that mental health providers should be upfront with people who might be considering their services.

As I am a Registered Master's level Social Worker and Psychotherapist, many extended health care plans cover the full or partial cost of my services. Medical expenses including counselling can sometimes be claimed as a medical expense. That being said, I also know that many people do not have access to extended health coverage and when a person does make a decision to seek out counselling, they might have to wait many months given the long waitlists that exist for many of our community agencies.

My approach helps individuals access knowledge about their mental health and wellness so that my clients can move towards real and sustainable changes in their life. I very much value interprofessional collaboration and will work with you to identify additional support outside of our work if necessary as part of my approach. As a social worker practicing psychotherapy, my scope of practice extends beyond just psychotherapy. I can also offer advocacy and support to navigate the various systems that often create challenges for individuals and families, which greatly increases the benefits of traditional psychotherapy.

Sometimes this can involve working with your doctor, the hospital, a child's teacher and school based supports or other community agencies as needed.
